A latency figure is only meaningful with three things attached: where it was measured from, what it was measured against, and when. Anything quoted without those is a marketing number. We publish figures with all three, only for locations we actually serve, and nothing at all where we cannot. If the number you need is missing, ask support and we will take it against your own account.

Do I need a VPS to trade futures?

Not to place a trade by hand. You need one the moment the machine has to be awake without you: an automated strategy, a funded account with a trailing threshold, a data feed that should not gap overnight, or several accounts that cannot all live on one laptop.
Which location should futures traders pick?

For CME products what matters is the distance to the Rithmic or CQG gateway your account routes through, and most of those sit at 350 East Cermak in Chicago rather than at the matching engine in Aurora. Tell support which broker and data route you use and we will measure it from the location you would be provisioned in, before you pay.
What does the VPS come with?

A Windows Server machine with RDP access, provisioned in under 60 seconds, plus an auto-restart watchdog that brings your platform back up if it crashes. You install your own platform and data feed on top, which takes a few minutes.
Why do these pages not quote a latency figure?

Because we only publish a number we can actually serve. It is easy to measure a fast route from a machine nobody is hosted on and print the result; we would rather these pages carry nothing than carry a figure your account would not get. When a location is live and measured, the figure appears here with its date and the exact host it was measured against.
