Copy trading on FXVPS is included free with every plan. If you run more than one account — a main account and a smaller one, a live account and a demo, or accounts at two different brokers — you can mirror trades from one to the others automatically, across MT4, MT5, and NinjaTrader 8.

Key Takeaways

  • Free with every plan — copy trading is part of Trade Journal, no separate product or upgrade.
  • Your accounts only — you copy between accounts you own, on your own VPS. It is not a signal service.
  • Cross-platform — an MT4 or MT5 master can feed MT4, MT5, or NinjaTrader 8 followers.
  • Start small — set a fixed lot size and test on one symbol before you scale anything up.

1. Open the Copier

Log in at members.fxvps.biz with your FXVPS account, open Trade Journal, and go to the Copier page.

Every trading account already running on your VPS shows up here automatically. Trade Journal connects MT4, MT5, and NinjaTrader 8 when your VPS is provisioned, so there is nothing to install first.

2. Choose Your Master

The master is the account you trade in. Everything it does gets mirrored outward.

Pick it deliberately: this should be the account you actually place trades on, whether by hand or with an EA. If you are testing, make a demo account the master first and watch a few trades copy before you point anything live at it.

3. Add a Follower

A follower is any other account on your VPS that should mirror the master. Add one, and set two things:

Copy size. Three options cover almost everyone:

  • Fixed lot — every copied trade opens at the same size, whatever the master did. The safest place to start.
  • Multiplier — a fraction or multiple of the master’s size. 0.5 halves it, 2 doubles it.
  • Equity ratio — sizes automatically by the balance difference between the two accounts, so a follower with half the equity trades half the size.

Symbols. By default the follower mirrors everything. You can restrict it to a specific list if you only want, say, the EURUSD trades copied and nothing else.

4. Check Symbol Mapping

This is the step people skip, and it is the one that quietly breaks copying.

Brokers name the same instrument differently. EURUSD at one broker is EURUSD.m at another and EURUSD.r at a third. If the names do not line up, the follower has nothing to trade and the copy silently fails.

The Copier page suggests matches for you and shows what it matched. Read that list before you start. Anything it guessed wrong, override by hand. Pay particular attention to gold, indices, and anything with a suffix — those are where mismatches usually hide.

5. Test With Small Lots

Set the follower to a fixed lot at the smallest size your broker allows and place one trade on the master.

Then confirm three things: the trade appeared in the follower, it went the same direction, and it closed when the master closed. Once you have seen a full open-and-close cycle mirror correctly, raise the size to whatever you actually want.

Do not skip this because the setup looked right. A symbol mapping error, a wrong lot size, or a follower on a broker that rejects the trade all look identical until a real trade goes through.

What Copying Does Not Do

Worth being clear about the limits before you rely on it:

  • It does not copy history. Copying begins with the master’s next trade. Anything already open stays where it is.
  • It does not fix a bad strategy. A losing system copied to three accounts loses on three accounts.
  • It is not instant. Copies arrive within seconds, not microseconds. For most strategies this is irrelevant, but if you are scalping a few pips it matters, so test it on your own setup before you commit.
  • It is between your accounts only. Copying to accounts you do not own is a different product with regulatory implications, and this is not it.

Need Help?

Support is included free with every FXVPS plan. If trades are not copying, the first thing to check is symbol mapping on the Copier page. If that looks right, reach out via live chat on fxvps.biz or email support@fxvps.biz.
