simple as choosing your\u00a0<strong>local resources<\/strong>\u00a0in the settings of your RDP connect window. \u00a0Notice below the\u00a0<strong>More<\/strong>\u00a0button at the bottom which takes you to the\u00a0<strong>local devices and resources<\/strong>\u00a0section which allows resources to be chosen.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.virtualizationhowto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/mapdrivehost01.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On your target remote desktop connection, you will see these redirected drives underneath your\u00a0<strong>Devices and drives<\/strong>\u00a0area of Explorer. \u00a0They will be designated by\u00a0<strong>&lt;drive letter&gt;<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0<strong>&lt;computername&gt;<\/strong>\u00a0where computername is your host.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.virtualizationhowto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/mapdrivehost02.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h1>Mapping these to real network drives<\/h1>\n<p>You may however have the need to map these redirected drives to real drive letters inside your\u00a0remote desktop session. \u00a0For instance developers may have the need to have access to source code in a lab environment which they may not have RPC or NETBIOS traffic allowed. \u00a0The traditional\u00a0<strong>map network drive<\/strong>wouldn\u2019t work as the ports required aren\u2019t open.<\/p>\n<p>The redirected drives however,\u00a0<strong>can be mapped to<\/strong>\u00a0which is awesome! \u00a0If you run a simple\u00a0<strong>net use<\/strong>command inside of your RDP session, you will see the redirected drives appear. \u00a0Notice the format of the drive is in the form of a\u00a0<strong>special UNC path<\/strong>\u00a0represented by\u00a0<strong>\\TSCLIENT&lt;drive letter&gt;<\/strong>\u00a0so these are these in a true sense to a network drive letter is a simple\u00a0<strong>net use &lt;drive letter&gt; \\tsclient&lt;drive letter&gt;<\/strong>\u00a0and voila, the drive is mapped!<\/p>\n<p><img
